Take a leading role in sustainability in your Halls of Residence by volunteering as a Flat Sustainability Champion!

Please note this opportunity is open to University Halls students only

The Guild’s Sustainability Team and SOS-UK are offering the opportunity to take a leading role in sustainability in your Halls of Residence. As a Flat Sustainability Champion (FSC) you will encourage flatmates to improve energy saving, recycling and other sustainable behaviour changes. It will also involve learning more about other issues including the UN Sustainable Development Goals and taking part in competitions.

Whether you are already an activist taking action on the climate crisis or you are new to the issue and would like to learn something new, this opportunity is open to anybody living in a University of Liverpool Halls of Residence. You will receive full training in sustainability and how to be an FSC.

This role is a part of the Halls Sustainability Programme – the more that you and your flatmates take part, the more likely that your halls will win the end of year prize!

What can you expect to be doing in this role?

· Receive training by SOS-UK

· Take part in energy and recycling audits of your flat

· Work to reduce energy consumption and learn key energy saving tips

· Have access to online modules and webinars to enhance your learning in sustainability. Topics will range from climate justice and action, campaigning, behaviour changes and more.

· Encourage your flatmates to get involved in competitions, events, and generally enhancing their sustainable living.

· Have your say – Put your suggestions forward on how University Halls could improve their sustainability

· Receive support from SOS-UK and Guild staff members

· Connect with other FSCs across the University

This opportunity is for students living in University of Liverpool Halls of Residence only and more than one person per flat/household can sign up.
