"Book swapping or book exchnage is the practice of a swap of books between one person and another" (Wikipedia). I would like to start a fiction (or non-fiction e.g. autobiographies) book exchange in the University because it provides an inexpensive way for people to find new books to read without having to pay for a brand new book. Reading for fun for many students is a relaxation technique, its a way to make new friends by discussing good reads and it is a great way to recycle e.g. if you are moving and can't take your books with you. The idea would be that you can pick any book on the shelf as long as you replace it with one of your own - the system would be built on trust so no one would need to police the shelf.
The book swap shelf can now be found outside the Student Officers' Lounge, next to starbucks. Happy swapping!
