New Semester

New Year: New Opportunities

We know semester one can feel like a whirlwind! Between finding your way around campus, exploring your new home and figuring out how to do your own washing, it can feel like a pretty intense start to the year!

We’re here with loads of opportunities to make new mates, boost your CV and develop a whole bunch of new skills. Whether you’re back from Christmas break or joining us now in January, here’s everything you need to know about getting involved at the Guild in 2023!

Join a Society

Joining a society isn’t just for September! You can join any time of year and are the perfect place to meet likeminded students. Societies are free to join and there’s no limit to how many you can be a member of.

From karaoke to K-pop, BookSoc to ballroom, with over 200 societies to choose from, there really is something for everyone! Meet your societies and find out what they’re getting up to this semester at our Refreshers Fair on 3rd February.

Run for Student Officer

Our Student Officers lead the direction of the Guild and make sure that students stay at the heart of everything we do. Elected every year by students, your team is made up of 4 full-time, paid officers who spend the year campaigning and bringing your ideas to life.

Fancy taking the lead and making real change to students’ lives on campus and nationwide? Election nominations for the 2023-24 Student Officer team are open between 30th Jan – 27th Feb, and we’ll be with you every step of your campaign journey! Come along to one of our Candidate Info Sessions to learn all about running for Officer and meet your current officer team at Refreshers Fair to hear all about the job and what they’re working on this semester.
