This year has been a busy and rewarding one for LivPsych, with a range of events and achievements that have brought students together and helped grow interest in psychiatry across the university.
We kicked things off at the Society Fair, where our stall gave us the chance to meet new students, chat about what LivPsych does, and welcome a brilliant group of new members. Not long after, Nour, the LivPsych President, represented the society in an outreach video for the School of Medicine on World Mental Health Day, raising awareness of LivPsych and encouraging wider engagement with psychiatry.

One of the highlights of the year was our talk featuring lived experience in psychiatry with Canon Conor, a local priest. This was a powerful session that allowed attendees to hear personal perspectives, reflect on patient-centred care, and think more deeply about the realities of mental health.

We also hosted a Psychiatry Quiz Night, which brought a fun and social side to the society. Alongside this, members took part in the Santa Dash and organised a Christmas donation box for CAMHS, supporting young people during the festive period and reinforcing our commitment to community involvement.

Looking ahead, preparations are underway for our Annual LivPsych Conference on Saturday 9th May, which promises to be an exciting opportunity to learn from experts, showcase student work, and continue building enthusiasm for the field.

Overall, it has been a fantastic year for LivPsych, with a strong sense of community and growing momentum that we are looking forward to carrying into next year.
Thank you!
Isabelle Merrony, Secretary LivPsych 2025/26
