This semester Othman, Holly, Will and Jitendra have been hard at work bringing to life the campaigns that you elected them on. Here's everything they've be up to:
Othman
- Organised the Guild's first ever Palestine History Week
- Lobbied the university to set up the Displaced Medical Student Initiative. We are currently hosting 1 medical student from Gaza this year
- Joined the Gaza40 campaign to support our prospective students in Gaza arrive safely in Liverpool
- Lobbied the University to install bidets - 3 are ready to be installed in Sydney Jones library as a pilot and the University agreed to include them in Harold Cohen library toilet refurbishment
- Lobbied the catering team to enhance their provision and labelling of Halal food and other dietary requirements in their outlets on campus - coming soon!
- Continuing working with the University to ensure manageable academic workloads. They agreed to aim to secure a week-long break for all students between January exams and S2 starting from academic year 27/28
Holly
- Co-leading a national campaign on increasing safety across the country and city and to make misogyny a hate crime
- Re-launched the Gender Expression Fund
- Co-leading another Reclaim The Night in Liverpool
- Re-launched the Swap Shop in a new permanent and bigger space
- Ran the Guild's first Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance Week
- Working with other Liverpool Officers on a cross-union transport campaign for students
- Working with the University on it's rent setting process
Will
- Organised and ran a campus-wide cost of living survey receiving over 3,500 respondents across the week
- Organised and ran HIV awareness day in the guild with local sexual health charities
- Launched the Working Class Students Collective in the Guild
- Working with other Liverpool Officers on a cross-union transport campaign for students
- Working with the University on it's rent setting process and fighting for the return of the 15% discount
Jitendra
- Organising a Graduation Farewell Party on 12th December
- Red Brick Fest 2.0 is happening - Coming to the Guild 5th February 2026
- Working with the University on getting a guarantor scheme, quicker dissertation resit, AI in curriculum, accessible employment opportunities and a student chatbot
- Working with UK wide officers on international students rights
