Night Bus is Back!

Bus TravelStudent Officer Update

Back in 2021 a petition was launched on Change.org to lobby the council to re-instate the night bus. That petition gained over 10,000 signatures with support from students and residents in Liverpool.

This route and access to a night bus has been emphasised as incredibly important to students whether that be for safety or for cost reasons. Students are significant members of the Liverpool community, and student safety must be a priority.

Since then, the Guild has been in communication with local MP’s, representatives from the Liverpool City Council as well as the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to lobby them to bring back the Night Bus.

After the past 18 months of campaigning, lobbying and collaborating with the University and the Liverpool City Region Music Board we are ecstatic to announce that the night bus is back!!

The N1 service, operated by Stagecoach, will be back in service as part of a new city-wide trial. The service will begin from 12:30am on Friday 8th December and tickets will cost £2 adult single fare.

Thank you to every student that has shared their feedback on the night bus, as a team we are thrilled to see the invaluable service return offering a safe and affordable way of getting home. We hope the trial service will continue as a regular timetable feature and be adopted by other providers and routes in the city.

Your Officers,

Kathryn, Lina, Vas and Rowan
