Celebrating Black History Month In Liverpool

October marks Black History Month, and there are many events across the city celebrating the culture and history. Liverpool is a city in which Black culture and history thrive all year round. We wished to highlight some of the events across the city for Black History Month 2025 that reflect this year's national theme of "Standing Firm in Power and Pride."

Culture Liverpool’s BlackFest 2025

BlackFest is Liverpool’s multi-award-winning culture diversity festival. The festival is taking place throughout September and October in venues across the city. Culture Liverpool has brought together artists, heritage groups, cultural institutions and activists to create an inspiring programme for this year's celebrations. With events ranging from dance workshops to film screenings to cooking classes and more!

The festival really has something for everyone and explores a wide variety of aspects within the rich landscape of Black culture.
