Course Reps are the link between students across the University and our Student Officers. They work with staff and fellow students to improve the learning and teaching experience.
Course Reps identify and discuss issues which affect their course and help to come up with solutions. All undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Liverpool have at least one Course Rep for each course year.

What is a Course Rep?
Course Reps are a part of the Student Representation Structure, and they work with staff across the University to improve the learning and teaching experience for students.
Course Reps identify and discuss issues that affect their academic experience and help to come up with solutions alongside staff. All undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Liverpool have at least one Course Rep for each course year.
What to expect from the role
We’ll provide you with training, so you’re fully equipped to attend committee meetings and represent your fellow students.
In the role you’ll collect feedback from students, present this to University staff, and collaborate with them to create solutions. You’ll then be able to close the feedback loop by letting students know of the outcomes!
Alongside training, you will be appointed a Student Voice Coordinator (SVC) from the Guild who will support you throughout the year. You can arrange catch ups with the SVC to get further information and support.

Course Reps can qualify for the Liverpool Advantage Award. This will be explained further in the Course Rep training.
How do I become a Course Rep?
To become a course rep, please complete the application form on the Guild website by 09:00am on Wednesday 7th October and the Student Voice Team will contact you to confirm the next steps.
In most cases, this will be that your application has been successful, but where there are a high number of applications for a role, an election will take place.
If an election is required, students will have until Monday 19th October to upload a short manifesto explaining why they should be elected as course rep. Voting will take place from Wednesday 21st October 9am – Tuesday 27th October 2pm on the Guild website, and applicants will be notified of the results the next day.
Once confirmed, Course Reps will be added to the Student Representatives Database and be asked to attend one of the Rep 101 training sessions running throughout October, and Bystander Intervention Training. It’s important you attend the training to gain the relevant knowledge and skills to be able to effectively carry out the role and meet other Reps.
