Are you interested in chess, but not quite confident enough in your skills to play? Did you spot us at the Welcome Fair, but found the 64 squares too daunting in the moment? Or perhaps you've thought of trying chess out, but weren't quite sure where to start?
Worry not, as we are running two hour-long sessions on Saturday 23rd September from 2-4 pm, to properly introduce the rules and basic tactics behind this classic game to you all!
We understand firsthand how the complexity and apparent seriousness of chess can be frustrating when starting out, so we hope that this session can make it more approachable and fun for those looking to learn and play with us.
While this event is targeted mainly towards beginners, more advanced players are welcome to come help and instruct as well.
