Why are you running to be an Officer?

I am running to be an officer because I want to represent students’ voices and help create a supportive, inclusive, and progressive university environment. As a first-year student at the University of Liverpool, I understand the academic, personal, and career challenges students face. I am committed to improving the student experience by promoting equal opportunities, diversity, wellbeing, and strong communication between students and the university, ensuring every student feels heard, respected, and supported while working to improve academic quality and overall student success.

What qualities would you bring to the role?

I bring good listening skills, problem-solving ability, and a strong focus on students’ needs. I can communicate clearly between students and the university and work well with different teams. I support fairness, respect, and inclusion, and help create a positive and safe learning environment. I understand student concerns, encourage feedback, and work on practical solutions to improve academic support, wellbeing, and student engagement.

What would be your top 4 priorities, if you were elected?

My Top 4 Commitments**

As a candidate for GUILD President, my goal is to improve the student experience and ensure every student feels supported, valued, and represented. My top four commitments focus on academic success, equal opportunities, inclusion, and student wellbeing.

**1. Academic Excellence and Student Success**
I am committed to improving the quality of education and learning support for all students. I will work with university services to enhance teaching standards, promote academic support programs, and encourage regular student feedback. My aim is to ensure students have the resources and guidance needed to achieve their full academic potential and strengthen the university’s global reputation.

**2. Scholarship and Financial Support Opportunities**
Education should be accessible to everyone regardless of financial background. I will advocate for more scholarship opportunities, financial support for international and disadvantaged students, and partnerships that help reduce financial barriers. My priority is to promote equal access to education and support students in achieving their goals without financial stress.

**3. Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, and Accessibility**
I strongly believe every student deserves respect, equal opportunities, and a sense of belonging. I will promote diversity and inclusion across all student communities, support international students, and ensure accessibility for students with disabilities. I will also encourage initiatives that celebrate cultural diversity and create an inclusive campus environment.

**4. Student Wellbeing and Positive Campus Environment**
Student wellbeing is essential for both academic and personal success. I will promote mental health awareness, support wellbeing programs, and work to create a safe, respectful, and supportive campus environment. I will also improve communication channels so students can easily share concerns and receive the support they need.

Through these commitments, I aim to create meaningful change, strengthen student representation, and build a supportive university community where every student can succeed.
