Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today.
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure.
We know it is scary facing up to it, but we must confront the biggest health and social care challenge of our time.
Thanks to your support, Alzheimer’s Society is facing dementia head on. Whether you’re a fundraiser, donor, partner, or affected by dementia in any way, we’re working with you to build a movement. Inspired by your voices, we’re leading the way in support, society and research.
As the largest and most influential dementia charity in the UK, we are calling on everyone to unite. Working together we know we will achieve our vision - a world without dementia.
Memory Walk is Alzhiemer's Society's flagship fundraising event, where thousands of walkers unite against dementia at sponsored walks across Englad, Wales and Northern Ireland. The money raised at Memory Walk helps to fund our universal and local services, as well as our resesarch and campaigning work.
We need volunteers to help make this year's Liverpool Memory Walk a success, and a day to remember for our walkers. Volunteers are needed for just a few hours for the morning event.
There are lots of ways you can help make Memory Walk a great day; including marshalling, route marking, cheering walkers across the finsh line, interactivng with walkers, helping to keep the site clean and tidy, and helping with event setup and breakdown.
Memory walk welcomes everyone and we'll find a role to suit your needs! We love volunteers who are happy to take on a variery of roles throughout the event, are good communicators and comfortable talking to our walkers.
Volunteering at Memory Walk is also great for pairs and groups, as we can make sure you do the same activity.
