This project allows University of Liverpool Students to deliver workshops in schools across Merseyside. It’s an excellent opportunity for students and pupils to develop their skills and experience something new, plus it’s completely free for both the student volunteers and the schools themselves. Each year we shortlist Guild Societies who have applied to take part in the project. They and other successful teams of volunteers who are interested in delivering around the themes of Science or Sustainability take part in a variety of training prior to visiting a school - including safeguarding and session planning. The project runs from November until April each academic year.

This year will be a bit different as we are going VIRTUAL! Due to the current pandemic our student teams will be able to join your class groups in school via Zoom. We are currently working hard to develop a new range of exciting  sessions which will be available soon both live and as recordings.

Below are the societies and other team sessions which were available last year to give you a flavour of what to expect. As the new sessions are developed by the teams then they are added to this site and the old ones removed.

To volunteer or find out more about Guild Schools please email school@liverpool.ac.uk

Schools are responsible for reviewing session plans and presentation documents before all school visits to ensure that the terms and language used are appropriate for the age and maturity of the groups being delivered to. If any amendments are requested then please contact us at school@liverpool.ac.uk

Sessions will be most effective when they are integrated into the schools' planned scheme of work.
