Guild Swap Shop Volunteer 25/26

Ongoing

You must log in and create your profile before you can apply for this opportunity.
Help students swap their way to a brand new wardrobe!

Following its successful launch in February last year, were looking for volunteers to continue to run Liverpool Guild of Students' very own swap shop. Students can donate unwanted clothes and accessories across the year and swap them for something else.

The swap shop will be running on Tues, Weds and Thurs throughout term time from 11am to 3pm; and we need your help to keep it running!

Activities will include:

  • Supporting students with the swapping process – taking in and sorting donated items. Taking back hangers from swapped items. Giving out and redeeming tokens.
  • Counting numbers of items donated and swapped
  • Opening and closing the space
  • Making sure the space is clean and tidy, and clothes are hung neatly and on the correct size rails
  • Monitoring student usage of the swap shop

The swap shop is located in the Cloakroom in the Guild basement and there are floor signs to help you find it. Shifts will last 2hrs, 11am - 1pm and 1pm - 3pm. We’ll aim to be flexible when allocating shifts, but you’ll need to be free for at least one of those times on a Tues, Weds and / or Thurs. Once accepted as a volunteer, you'll recieve a link to a form to input the hours you're available. We'll then contact you via email when shifts are available.

Any clothing repair / sewing skills would be greatly appreciated as well as a creative eye and enthusiasm for sustainable fashion. We are always open to ideas on how to make the space as welcoming and inclusive as possible! This is a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience in supporting a sustainable initiative.

We welcome volunteers of all abilities. Please let us know about any access needs so we can ensure you have the support and resources to participate fully. If you have any questions, please contact Lizzie on lgsustainability@liverpool.ac.uk.
