Summary of Role
A Liverpool Guild of Students’ Trustee is responsible for ensuring the organisation has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these. Trustees are responsible for the performance of Liverpool Guild of students and its behaviour. A key responsibility is ensuring that as an organisation we comply with all legal requirements whilst ensuring we do not go over budget, acting as guardians of assets both tangible and intangible whilst taking due care of their security, deployment and proper application.
Being a trustee is a valuable and rewarding experience. You’ll get to make a lasting difference and influence how the Guild is run. It’s also an excellent opportunity to develop your skills; you‘ll gain board-level experience in decision making, teamwork, communication and planning; you’ll learn about management of finances, people and strategy - all of which will look great on your CV.
As a student we recognise that you might not have extensive experience and we will provide the support and training you need to be an effective trustee. You will receive an induction to learn more about the Guild, charities, finance and the role of a charity trustee and you will be partnered with one of our co-opted trustees for additional support.
