The guild is looking to recruit an Environmental Coordinator to join our membership services team. This position is a crucial member of the Green Guild team, which aims to promote sustainability across our students in the Guild, University and the wider community. The team, which forms part of the Guild’s Student Activities team, was established in 2013, initially through the NUS Students’ Green Fund and has been very successful in achieving its aims as recognised through a number of national awards. These include Green Impact Gold (since 2010), Green Impact Excellence (2015), Liverpool Echo Waste Reduction Award (2015), Green Gown Finalist (2014) for our work with local schools and highly commended for the Green Guild project at Green Gown (2015).
Success has been achieved through a wide range of projects and activities some of which you will have the opportunity to lead on. These include campaigns (including Student Switch Off which is an energy/water saving and recycling behaviour change programme in Halls), the Green Guild Flag programme for societies and the Give it a Go green programme.
We are especially interested in candidates from under-represented groups, and those who have experience working with diverse populations. We encourage applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented within the Guild.
