#GuildSOElection - Have your say!

Friday 02-03-2018 - 09:00

It's time for you to have your say on who will lead our Guild!

Ellipsis Magazine will be providing you with a range of coverage, to help you decide who to vote for during this year's Student Officer elections.

What's it all about?

Every year, student unions across the UK engage in a democratic voting process to select their student representatives for the following year. These students will go on to make key decisions about their student union, their campus and the interactions they have with the local and national community. Therefore, it's important that the right candidates are chosen.

Each registered student at each university has the ability to vote for their preferred candidates. It's up to you to decide who you want to lead your Guild!

The University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University and Liverpool Hope University club together annually to announce the candidates who have been chosen to represent their universities. This year, the campaign teams will be on campus promoting their candidate from Monday 5th March 2018 and the winners will be announced late on Friday 9th March 2018

How can I get involved?

First off, most importantly, use your vote!

For students at the University of Liverpool, you can log into the Liverpool Guild website with your MWS username and password and the voting screen will appear immediately. Then, just vote for your favourite candidates. It's as easy as that!

Make sure you've read up on each candidate before making your decision. Ellipsis will have a dedicated space in the Guild with short-'n'-sweet 'candidate cards' containing information about each of the candidates' hobbies, interests, causes and plans for the year ahead. These cards can also be seen through the week on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. The other media societies in Liverpool, and the Guild, will be running a range of content on their platforms too - so you'll have plenty of information to hand before casting your vote. (The campaign teams will be out and about canvassing on campus too, so you can always approach them with any concerns you have!)

On Friday 9th March, Ellipsis will also be running live tweet walls around the Guild building so that you can share your thoughts live! To get involved, simply tweet or post to Instagram using the hashtag #GuildSOElection. Your tweets and photos from the day could appear live on screen!

The results will be announced live later in the evening, so make sure you've pulled up a seat in the Courtyard before the big moment so you don't miss a thing!

See you there!
